We have just returned from a fleeting 10 hour round trip to Dublin to take part in workshops lead by Moving Performance at an accountancy firm in the Irish capital. We all had a great time composing themed improvisations with the participants.

After a successful audition, Treblos has been added to the books of the events agency Sternberg Clarke. We are excited to be part of this growing company and have already had our first booking!

This month we have have provided background music for several important functions. Treblos performed for the Lord Mayor and guests at a lunch in Mansion House and the following day provided music for the BMO financial group's 140th birthday celebrations at the Guildhall.

Today Treblos took a day trip to High Wycombe to visit a firm of accountants to present a team building workshop in association with moving performance, a specialist company providing learning and change through music for business institutions. We encouraged their team building skillsthrough composing a piece for the quintet as a group, despite the fact that none of them had any prior experience of music. The day culminated in a performace of the piece and was very interesting for all involved.

Today we performed at the Wigmore Hall as part of their chamber tots programme. We played dance music including an arrangement of Prokofiev's Montagues and capulets, made famous as the theme tune of The Apprentice, and also movements from Farkas' Hungarian Dances. As a group we composed a dance of our own based on the music in the concert. As a result of our work with the Wigmore hall we have been asked to join their scheme 'Chamber Tots in the Community' which involves bringing music to nursaries in deprived London boroughs.

Treblos has just returned from a tour of Dublin in collaboration with the brass quartet White Sox. Although delayed by a day by the ash cloud we eventually made it across the sea to Dublin. We all loved visiting Joe's family and meeting so many Irish school children! Over the week we visited 7 schools from all areas of Dublin and played to over 1,000 children! The workshops were themed around animals and the quintet performed Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with narration from the quintet which was popular with children and adults alike. All the schools were impressed with the quality of the workshops and we have already been invited back next year.

Today we performed and gave a workshop at the Wigmore Hall as part of the chamber tots series. Our day at the Wigmore Hall got off to a tricky start, when on arrival we discovered that Seb's bassoon was broken. Luckily thanks to a friendly taxi driver and the lovely people at Howarths, it was fixed and ready to go within 45 minutes! Playing to an audience of 2-5 year olds was challenging at first, but once we got the hang of it we all had a great time. We will be playing there again on the 21st of January so if you have kids or are just a big kid yourself, come along!

Today we did a lunchtime recital at St Mary’s Church, Henley -on-Thames as part of their Autumn proms season. We played a programme of Danzi, Irving Fine, Prokofiev and Ibert. We’d like to thank everyone who came to listen to us today and we hope to be playing in St Mary’s again early next year.
